Forensic Examiner (Latent Prints)

Location: Ft. Gillem, Forrest Park, GA

Potential Travel Locations: Bahrain, Djibouti, Kuwait

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

The role will require OCONUS travel.

​

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process IED evidence to develop latent prints using standard laboratory procedures. Processing methods include, but are not limited to, cyanoacrylate fuming, fluorescent dye stains, powders in suspension, ninhydrin and indanedione.

  • Identify, label, and photograph latent prints on evidence.

  • Photograph each latent print using proper photographic equipment and techniques.

  • Analyze latent prints in Adobe Photoshop to determine suitability and submit to the Defense Forensic Biometric Agency (DFBA). This determination shall be in accordance with laboratory policy.

  • Compare latent prints to known prints and make conclusions.

  • Document all examination results/findings in the Weapons Technical Intelligence Exploitation Analysis Tool (WEAT) database.

  • Annotate the case file documentation, detailing the processing techniques and the examination results.

  • Interpret results for forensic and/or intelligence exploitation.

  • Perform administrative and technical reviews of reports for fellow examiners.

  • Maintaining proper chain of custody.

  • Mix chemicals as required and perform quality checks on instruments and reagents.

  • Maintain a clean laboratory and personal workspace environment, in accordance with laboratory procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • One (1) to Seven (7) years of experience working in a lab performing Latent Print examinations and analysis on all types of materials to include porous, non-porous, and semi-porous materials.

  • Experience using chemical, physical, and digital latent print examination techniques to produce a suitable print for comparison.

  • Experience with utilizing and submitting to ABIS, AFIS, and/or other national databases.

  • Professional certifications such as International Association of Identification (IAI).

  • Have 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20 vision with no detected color vision deficiencies.

  • Must be able to successfully pass all medical requirements for deployment.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a skills assessment.

  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Crime Scene Investigation

Firearms and Toolmark Examiner

Location: Forest Park, GA w/ OCONUS rotation

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

We are currently seeking a qualified Firearm and Tool Mark Examiner to support the DoD base in Fort Gillem, GA.  The role will require OCONUS travel.

​

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Examine evidence and forensic materials and render all items safe

  • Examine evidence items for any signs indicating make, model, modifications, place of origin, manufacturer or maker, and serial numbers

  • Examine evidence items for unique or indicative tool marks, using magnification, etching, x-ray, and/or photographic techniques to best exploit the evidence items

  • Use photographic equipment to capture still images of each evidence item and relevant key portions of the evidence item, or other exhibits, to support further analysis, conclusions, and documentation

  • Perform forensic examination of tool marks on a wide variety of weapons and IED related evidence

  • Produce detailed notes and reports

  • Perform technical and administrative reviews of other examiners casework

  • Instrument maintenance

  • Interact and collaborate with other group/team members and other forensic staff to ensure a high quality and accurate product

Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following fields:

    • Examination of lead and other metal fragments

    • Examination and microscopic comparison of bullets, ammunition components, and firearms

    • Examination of tool marks as having been produced by a particular tool

    • Shot pattern examinations, gunshot residue examinations, trajectory analysis

    • Collection, preservation, and processing of evidence and event reconstruction

    • Experience in more than one of the above fields is preferred

  • One (1) year of experience as the lead of a team of firearms and tool mark examiners is desired.

  • Experience working with an OIF/OEF Laboratory, TEDAC facility, or other NGIC, DoD or ATF Lab; interagency or state/local law enforcement forensics labs preferred

  • Must be able to successfully pass all medical requirements for deployment.

  • Must be able to successfully pass a skills assessment.

  • Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Able to obtain a U.S. Passport.

Intel Software Trainer/Analyst

Location: Hawaii or Korea

Clearance: TS - eligible to obtain an SCI

As an Intel Software Trainer/Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the organization by working closely with software implementation teams to enhance and support their unique partnerships with their user base. Your responsibilities will include working alongside other analysts to educate and guide users, resolve technical issues, and create new software application scenarios while tackling unique and complex challenges. This could involve immersing yourself with users and sharing your insights directly with the software vendor team members. Lastly, you'll foster collaboration across a global organization, ensuring our customers' ongoing success. 

 

Required qualities and duties include:

• TS/SCI security clearance

• Proficient in delivering informed and credible presentations to senior leadership

• Aptitude for learning new technology skills

• Capable of instructing software in both classroom and one-on-one settings

• Ability to allign technology with the specific needs of DoD or Intel/Comm clients

• Proactive engagement with user groups, fostering active over passive outreach

• Effective and consistent communication with the software team

• Report on-site requirements to the software vendor team

• Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues, with competency to escalate to higher-level tech support when necessary.

 

Additional highly sought-after qualities include:

  • Air, Maritime, or Joint Operation Center Experience or Joint Task Force experience

  • Watch floor experience

  • All Source / GEOINT in support of near-peer (first/second world adversary) problem sets

  • Targeting / Fires in a joint conventional environment

  • Collection management

​

An ideal candidate would have a joint operational background and expertise in either maritime, air, or space domains. The team values extensive expertise in one of these domains more than experience as a proficient software user, as long as the candidate can demonstrate the essential attributes of quick learning, credible communication, and the ability to promote engagement.
